Inkblots are a four piece band stemming from Santa Ana, CA., made up of Sam Munoz (vocals, guitar), Irving Nunez (drums), Jesus Nunez (guitar), and Bernie Rodriguez Jr. (bass). Formed in 2005 by founding members Sam and Irving, Inkblots mix a variety of styles from folk, blues, to good old fashion rock and roll. They provide a sound that is both original and yet strangely familiar.

RECORDED MUSIC:
Inkblots have released a variety of recordings. Their first came in 2005. Still in their infancy stage, Inkblots recorded a self released demo known simply as Sail. From Sam’s emotion driven vocals, to Jesus’ brilliant guitar riffs, Sail showcases much of what was to come from inkblots in the next stages of their music. No longer in print, those lucky enough to own this can hear early versions of “Mexico” and “Everything is Wrong When It Comes To You” plus a slew of other Inkblots gems only available in this recording.

Shortly after the release of Sail, in 2006 Inkblots came together to create their own publishing company and record label known as Vacant Bunny Publishing (BMI) and Vacant Bunny Records respectively. Their first recording released in 2007 under their own publishing company and label was The Record Player EP. Hosting five tracks of what was to become, a year later, their first full length album, The Record Player EP revealed the band’s more mature side. From tales of broken homes and revenge (“A Case for Sanity“) to commentaries on what was then the fairly new online celebrities phenomenon (“Smiling”), The Record Player EP gave fans a new level of expectation for the group, now no longer just a small garage band.
In 2008, Inkblots released their first full length album known as Inkblots. The band’s most accomplished work to date, this self titled album features twelve tracks including now Inkblots classics “Mexico” and “Smiling” and cult favorites such as “And So Jesus Came” “Here Comes the Train” and “Sweet Decline”. Expanding on their previous EP, Inkblots shows the band in its fully mature state. It is a must have for all Inkblots fans.
On June 4th, 2011, Inkblots will release their first work of newly recorded material in 3 years, once again, under their own publishing company and label. Featuring four new tracks plus a little surprise for all the devoted fans.

What the Press Have to Say:
The OC Weekly
June 2, 2011
"Together, they recorded a new EP, Trap Doors, that is distinctly less bluesy, even though Munoz's compelling vocals hint that he is still very much a bluesman"
- Gabriel San Roman
The OC Weekly
November 26, 2010
“Another alternative rock band that deserve its due attention, the Inkblots strike with an updated grittier energy that Gustavo Arellano relayed to me once as reminiscent of the Animals.”
-Gabriel San Roman
The OC Weekly
January 31, 2008
"Samuel Munoz (vocals, guitar), brothers Jesus (guitar) and Irving Nunez (drums), and Bernardo Rodriguez Jr. (bass) play together with a solidity that surpass the band's lifespan of less than three years. Munoz exhibits a distinct tone in his velvety drone, not unlike Paul Banks of Interpol, adding a layer of warmth to Inkblots' music. Their easy and cool feel is a level usually reserved for groups of a more mature caliber."
